New Concept Art and Details Released for Disney’s Polynesian Villas & Bungalows as Sales Begin Soon

The new Bungalows at Disney's Polynesian Village Resort have to be the most anticipated and desirable locations to stay in Walt Disney World. For me anyway. While I won't be staying there anytime soon, the new concept art Disney has released is just as tantalizing.

Sales for the new DVC property will begin on January 12th for DVC members and everyone else can pick the scraps on February 9th. The first phase of opening is scheduled for April 1st which will include the 20 Bora Bora bungalows and the less exciting regular villas that include the first connecting deluxe studios. Disney also showed off some concept art for the redesigned feature pool.

New Details on Polynesian Village Villas and Bungalows

Disney has released some new details and concept art for the new bungalows and villas going into the reimagined Polynesian Village resort which is still under heavy construction. The 20 bungalows, which are modeled after a south pacific home-like setting, will sleep up to eight and of course will have an incredible view of the Magic Kingdom fireworks.

Brand new villas will also be added back on land. The 360 deluxe studios will sleep up to five and have split bathrooms like the Disney cruise ships. One section will have a shower/bath and sink and the other will have a sink and shower. They will also have kitchenettes and expanded storage which should make extended stays more comfortable.

The bungalows and villas are Disney Vacation Club properties but will be available to regular guests in the likely rare event they are not occupied.

The Polynesian is a resort I stayed at multiple times as a kid and loved the atmosphere and in recent trips when I got to visit I still loved the environment, despite the construction going on. The bungalows will be a dream place for me to stay. If I could even get a reservation that is.

Disney Polynesian Village to be Reborn with Trader Sam’s

Renovations have been happening for a little while now at the Polynesian. Now we actually know what those renovations will bring.

In addition to a completely remodeled lobby, redesigned guest rooms and redesigned feature pool, the Disneyland favorite, Trader Sam's, will be making its east coast debut.

Trader Sam's Grog Grotto will feature the same iconic atmosphere and souvenir mugs as its Disneyland counterpart, it'll be open next year.

I spent a few vacations at the Polynesian when i was much younger. I can still remember that lobby and of course that smell. I always welcome change. Here's hoping it's all for the better.
