Universal has announced that their multi-billion dollar franchise, Fast & Furious, is coming to Orlando. The franchise is currently featured in Universal Studios Hollywood as part of Universal's Tram Tour. Reactions to that ride have been mixed due to the subpar CG movie. The Orlando attraction should be considerably different.
The attraction will debut in 2017 and be called Fast & Furious: Supercharged, but there will be some differences from its West coast counterpart. Universal promises the attraction will have "an original storyline and incredible ride technology" and "specially-designed vehicles". I'm hoping that will require a new film from the one in Hollywood. Regardless of the film, the experience should be very different.
Of course something has to make room for Dominic Toretto and his family to have a home. Disaster: A Major Motion Picture Starring You! will be closing September 8th and Beetlejuice Graveyard Revue will take its final bow sometime later this year. Rumor has it that Beetlejuice could move to the Fear Factor stage but there is no official comment from Universal yet.
