Universal Studios Hollywood has been undergoing so many big changes that, until recently, made Disney's Hollywood Studios looks like a fully functioning park. With their new Springfield expansion recently open, the next major thing on the slate is The Wizarding World of Harry Potter: Hogsmeade.
Universal has announced that the expansion will open less than a year away in Spring of 2016. Universal's Orlando and Japan parks already enjoy Hogsmeade and the Hollywood version will be more or less the same as its counterparts. Hogwarts Castle, The Forbidden Journey, Flight of the Hippogriff, Three Broomsticks, Ollivanders and other shops will all be included on the west coast. Oh yeah, Butterbeer will be there too.
However there is one addition that guests can call unique to the park. The Forbidden Journey will be in HD 3D. Riders will wear "Quidditch goggles" as they ride through the groundbreaking attraction. After my rides on the Orlando attraction I felt the screen quality to be a bit lacking. It didn't ruin the experience but I definitely was a little offput but the blurry visuals in some spots. 3D or at least HD would be a welcome here on the east coast.
