Of all the new announcements Disney made yesterday, the night time shows are the ones I'm most excited about. Specifically "Rivers of Light" but we'll start with Harambe Nights first.
The Festival of the Lion King show is making a return this June in the new Harambe Theater. In that same theater will be "Harambe Nights." Saturdays only, June 7th through August 9th. A celebrity narrator will host a retelling of The Lion King with a live choir and orchestra. Afterward will be a nighttime street party with live performers, music and characters. This special ticket event will start at $119 for adults. Check out full details and celebrity dates at the Disney Parks Blog.
Something I'm really excited about is the Rivers of Light nighttime show. The water and light show will be located in the Discovery river and feature floating lanterns, water screens and live music with incredible looking animal imagery. If the concept art is to be believed.
Animal Kingdom might go from a park you come to early and leave early from to a park you show up late and leave late from. At least until 'The World of Pandora' debuts in 2017. Depending on the number of attractions, Animal Kingdom could become a full day park.
