Boing Boing has got their hands on the original prospectus, or sales pitch, for Disneyland. The original document is now owned by conservative political commentator, Glenn Beck. But through an anonymous source Boing Boing now has a copy.
The image above is only the original map. The prospectus is 10 pages detailing Walt's original vision for the park.
Walt's vision and what ultimately became Disneyland aren't too dissimilar. Fantasyland, Tomorrowland, Frontierland and Adventureland were in the original plans, albeit with different names. But those lands were to be joined by a few others as well. Lilliputian Land, Holiday Land and a Recreation Land where all in the original plans but did not end up happening. There was even a Mickey Mouse Club planned to housed inside a massive hollowed out tree located on Treasure Island. How cool is that?
I highly recommend you check out these documents. They are a great look at that park Walt wanted to build and in most every way did.
