Disney’s Hollywood Studios to Debut Two New Star Wars Spectaculars

The last few years have not been kind to Disney's Hollywood Studios. With attractions and shows being yanked out left and right, the wait for Star Wars and Toy Story lands have been becoming increasingly difficult. Today that bleak outlook on the park is becoming a great deal more tolerable.

Disney has announced not one but two new shows coming to Hollywood Studios that they claim will "make theme park history". First is an all new stage show called “Star Wars: A Galaxy Far, Far Away” which will take place on a stage in front of the Chinese Theater. Kylo Ren will make his main stage debut when he is joined by Darth Vader, Darth Maul, Chewbacca and more. In addition to the show, several times a day, Captain Phasma will lead a platoon of First Order stormtroopers from Star Wars Launch Bay to the main stage area for photo and interaction opportunities. Both of those events start on April 4th.

Starting this summer, guests will be able to see an entirely new fireworks display, Star Wars: A Galactic Spectacular. The new display will combine fireworks, pyrotechnics, special effects into a likely breath taking show. This new display will also incorporate video projections on to the Chinese Theater as well as towers of fire and spotlight beams, which will resemble lightsabers against the night sky. This has all the makings to be an incredible fireworks display to rival any other Disney park around the world.
